Masaaki Hatsumi Soke

Masaaki Soke was born on the 2nd of December 1931 in the city of Noda-shi
in Chiba ken Japan. He began training in martial arts at age seven. When
Hatsumi Soke was twenty-six he met Osensei Toshitsugu Takamatsu, called "The Mongolian tiger", the legendary teacher of Taijutsu who took him as a personal student. Every
weekend for fifteen years Hatsumi Soke traveled twelve hours round trip
to study with Osensei. Hatsumi Soke was passed nine schools of ‘Budo” (Martial
Arts) from Osensei. Hatsumi Soke founded the "Bujinkan Dojo", a school in honor of his teacher. Today Bujinden Honbu Dojo (the main dojo)
is placed in the city of Noda – shi in Chiba – ken Japan. The Bujinden Honbu
Dojo is the central dojo for study of Budo Taijutsu for all countries of
the world. Hatsumi Soke has a Doctorate of medical osteopathy from Meiji
University in Tokyo; he had a medical practice in Noda City until he retired.
